Resources for Academic & Staff Personnel
New Hires
Welcome to Psychology! This page aims to provide useful information and resources if you are new to the department.
Blink (http://blink.ucsd.edu/) is a great resource for faculty and staff which provides information on just about every aspect of working at UCSD. If you have a question, it is a great place to start. Here are some useful new hire Blink links:
Checklist for new employees - A guide to starting work at UCSD.
Parking checklist for new employees - travel options and information.
New hire paperwork
There are a number of forms which must be completed in order to begin work. The packet of forms will be provided by the Psychology payroll or HR person. When returning the completed forms, please make sure to provide some form of identification, such as a passport or driver's license and social security card (there is a list of acceptable types of ID on the I-9 form). If you wish to set up direct deposit, please provide a voided check.
Get a campus ID card
Once your new hire forms are complete, ask for a campus card form from the payroll desk. Take the form to Student Business Services and they will provide your campus card. This enables you to use the libraries and other University facilities.
E-mail & Computer support
You should receive your e-mail and password within a few days of your hire date. If you have any questions about e-mail or computer configuration, visit the Psychology tech support site (http://psytech.ucsd.edu/) or e-mail our tech team: psytech@psy.ucsd.edu.
