Undergraduate Program in Experimental Psychology

Integrated B.S./M.A. Program

For UCSD Psychology students only.

The B.S./M.A. Degree program is offered to undergraduate students enrolled in any of the concentrations of the B.S. Program in Psychology at UCSD who have a 3.3 overall GPA.

The present undergraduate psychology B.S. degree requirements will stay the same with respect to the five required core courses, the seven electives specifically structured for the student’s particular area of concentration, and the additional two required quarters of laboratory experience (with research paper). The one-year M.A. program has additional admissions criteria beyond those required for the B.S. degree.

Specifically, B.S. seniors will be required to take three additional research experience courses with an advisor in their area of focus (Psychology 196 A,B,C) and Psychology 111 A/B. The three additional research courses (196A,B,C) do not count toward the B.S. degree but toward the M.A. The additional year of graduate education expands on these three courses with the same requirements as those for the first year students of the Psychology Ph.D. track, however, GREs are not required for entry into the M.A. program.
